Robin And The Giant: Music

The Pumpkin Patch At Druid Hills

(Robin And The Giant)
July 24, 2007
Robin MacBlane and Larry Whitler
Every year at this time ---
Even without a calendar
We can still tell from the signs ---
Maybe it’s the cool air -- could be ---
Maybe it’s the colors of the falling leaves ---

But the one sure sign of Autumn
Is not the leaves or the chill ---
It’s the way we know
In the children’s faces’ glow
It’s the way it’s always been
And always will ---
When we first set our eyes
On the pumpkin patch at Druid Hills ---

Every year at this time ---
Moments from my childhood
Creep into my mind ---
Suddenly we’re all wearing sweaters
And the congregation all gets together ---

And our laughter fills the air ---
As we scurry everywhere ---
We all run to choose
Our special gourd to use
It’s the way it’s always been
And always will ---
When we first set our eyes
On the pumpkin patch at Druid Hills ---

Carry on these family traditions ---
It’s not the pumpkin or
The way you carve the lines ---
It’s the time spent with the children ---
It’s always all about the time ---

Every year in the Fall ---
Suddenly there’s a change
And the grown-ups all recall ---
Being with their own Mom and Dad
Passing on the warmth and the fun they once had ---

For the one sure sign of love ---
Is the way these days are cherished ---
So as we grow
Our hearts will always know
The Autumns of our past
And Autumn still ---
When we first cast our eyes
On the pumpkin patch at Druid Hills ---

Carry on these family traditions ---
It’s not the pumpkin or
The way you carve the lines ---
It’s the time spent with the children ---
It’s always all about the time ---

Every year at this time ---
Even without a calendar
We can still tell from the signs ---
Maybe it’s the cool air -- could be ---
Maybe it’s the colors of the falling leaves ---

But the one sure sign of Autumn
Is not the leaves or the chill ---
It’s the way we know
In the children’s faces’ glow
It’s the way it’s always been
And always will ---
When we first set our eyes
On the pumpkin patch at Druid Hills ---
