Robin And The Giant: Music

Halloween Suite

(Robin And The Giant)
July 24, 2007
Robin MacBlane and Larry Whitler
Marissa and Toby's Dad and Mom
Called it an "alternative"
But they called it "fun" ---
Halloween evening instead of "Trick or Treat"
They'd go to the theatre downtown ---
For the Halloween Suite ---

Not quite a movie
And not quite a play
More like a concert
On Halloween Day ---
Dressed up in costumes they'd line up the seats
With pumpkin shaped lights in the aisles
At the Halloween Suite ---

Cellists dressed up as Dracula ---
Flautists as Frankenstein's Bride ---
Spooky effects from the balcony
The timpani rumbling with pride ---

Traditions are built upon holidays
Some are adhered to
And some thrown away ---
Doing things together as a family ---
Letting our hair down and laughing
At the Halloween Suite ---

Ushers ushering like zombies ---
The ticket lady pale as a ghost ---
Popcorn and soda called witches' brew
The conductor, our monster-like host ---

Marissa and Toby's Dad and Mom
Called it an "alternative"
But they called it "fun" ---
Halloween evening instead of "Trick or Treat"
They'd go to the theatre downtown ---
For the Halloween Suite ---
